The Rev. Dr. Ronald L. Bobo, Sr. has a passion for reaching people with the Good News of the
Kingdom of God as revealed through Jesus Christ. Through Sharing Hope, Pastor Bobo has evangelized,
preached, served as a lecturer and adjunct professor, led teaching teams and medical teams, and lent
support to others in the Body of Christ around the world. His passion for reaching the world for Jesus
has led him to serve in ministry in Asia, Africa, Australia Europe, South America, the South Pacific, the
Caribbean, and throughout North America.
Because he was raised in a church that kept missions as a priority, Dr. Bobo also became
interested in missions. As a result of his burning passion to reach others, the Lord graciously allowed him
to serve in leadership roles in the Missionary Baptist State Convention of Missouri as the Executive
Secretary for Foreign Missions, as the Chairman of the Foreign Mission Board of the National Baptist
Convention, USA Inc., as the President of the Youth Department of the Baptist World Alliance (BWA) as
well as the Chairman of the Commission on Evangelism and Education for BWA.
In order to prepare himself for the calling that was placed upon his life, Pastor Bobo
matriculated at Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan where he graduated with a Bachelor of
Science in Music Education. He then furthered his studies at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary
in Louisville, Kentucky where he graduated with both Master of Divinity Degree and a Doctor of Ministry
Degree.
Dr. Bobo served until retirement as the Senior Pastor of the West Side Missionary Baptist Church
in St. Louis Missouri for 32 years, and for eight years as both the Assistant Pastor and Senior Pastor of
the Bates Memorial Missionary Baptist Church in Louisville Kentucky. Having retired from the Senior
Pastorate he is now assisting Dr. John D. Tolbert at the Trinity Missionary Baptist Church in Pontiac,
Michigan as he continues to pursue his calling to reach the world for Jesus.
Since 1976 he has been married to his childhood sweetheart, Darlean Anita Bobo. They have
three adult sons, who are all active in ministry, and six grandchildren.
